Issue One : Summer 2001

Martha Tod Dudman is the author of Augusta, Gone published by Simon & Schuster in March 2001, and Dawn, Short Stories and a Novella.  She served as President and General Manager of Dudman Communications, from 1990 to 1999.  Now a professional fundraiser, she lives in Northeast Harbor, Maine, with her son and daughter.  

 

 

 

 

Jo Giese is a special correspondent for Marketplace, a production of Minnesota Public Radio.  Her most recent series "How Much is that Doggie in the Window?" looked at the new high costs -- emotional and financial -- of having an animal companion.  The 4-part series can be heard by going to www.Marketplace.org, click on Features, and scroll down to Doggie.  She's also been writing for BARk, the dog culture magazine.  Her prizewinning radio series "Breaking the Mold," broadcast on Marketplace, Public Radio International won a prestigious Peabody 2000.  For her "superior portrayal of the changing roles of women," Jo also received a GRACIE 2000 award from the Foundation of American Women in Radio and Television.  Her 5-part series "Starting Over" will air in June on Marketplace.  The series looks at lifestyle entrepreneurs across America -- folks who ditched their job and their paycheck to Start Over, to make not just a living, but a life. Her writing has appeared in scores of national publications, including The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, VogueMs., The Utne Reader, LA Weekly, New Woman, and European Travel & Life.  She was a regular columnist for Buzz: The Talk of Los Angeles.  Jo authored the award-winning book A Woman's Path (Golden/St. Martin's) and The Good Food Compendium (Doubleday).  She lives in Malibu, California, with her husband, a physician, and two dogs -- a cocker spaniel and a Yorkshire terrier puppy.

He has attended the Writer's Workshop at Iowa and the Writer's Workshop at University of Lancaster in Ireland. He is a doctoral candidate at the the University of Milwaukee-Wisconsin. His latest work appears in the Southern Poetry Review.

 

 

 

clairecrop.gif (91895 bytes)Ronnie Claire Edwards is known all across the world for her role as Corabeth Walton Godsey on the television series, "The Waltons."  She has appeared extensively in television, film, and theater.  Her writing credits include the musicals, "Cowboy" and "Idols of the King," as well as a cookbook, "Sugar and Grease(paint)."  Her award-winning fiction has appeared in "Texas Short Stories."  She recently toured the United States in a one-woman show based on her book, The Knife-Thrower's Assistant, Memoirs of a Human Target which was published by Hawk Publishing Group in January 2000.

 

Rob Roberge's fiction has appeared in ZYZZYVA, Chelsea, Other Voices, Alaska Quarterly Review, and Fatal Embrace.   His plays have been produced in Los Angeles by Empire Red Lip and Wolfskill Theater.  He publishes the Doublewide Press, an independent press that highlights Los Angeles playwrights and fiction writers.  Recent fiction appeared in the "10 Writers Worth Knowing" issue of The Literary Review, with new work scheduled to appear in an anthology on California writers, due out next year on City Lights Books.  He wrote the screenplay for and co-produced the feature-length movie "Worst Case Scenario," which was filmed in the summer of 2000 in Salt Lake City.  He lives in Long Beach, CA, and is at work on a new script and book.

Her authorial credits also include Sleep Talk by Lois Haddad with Patricia Wilson and Judith Searle. Many of her articles have appeared in Enneagram Monthly. A Professional Member of the International Enneagram Association, she teaches workshops around the country. Her most recent book, The Literary Enneagram: Characters from the Inside Out was published in July 2000.  She lives in Santa Monica, California.
